Cabernet Franc wine

Found 2774
Cabernet Franc is one of the most famous Bordeaux wine grape varieties. This blue-black grape is usually blended with other red wine grapes, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, but also produces its own unique varietal wines. Its light, crisp, soft and aromatic characteristics add elegance and peppery aromas to the wine when blended, resulting into a well-structured wine with medium to high acidity. Although closely related to Cabernet Sauvignon, it differs from it.

Cabernet Franc dates back to 1534, known as “Breton”. Apart from France, it is grown in the U.S., Canada, Argentina, Chile, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Australia, New Zealand and China. Depending on cultivation, its flavor may vary from fruitier to more herbal or vegetative.

This popular wine complements lamb, rabbit, duck and venison exquisitely, but also makes a perfect match with white meat. Very pleasant to drink on its own, it reveals its balanced taste and fine aromas.
