The wine is bright red.
On the palate the wine is well structured, soft, harmonious, with silky tannins and a long finish.
The wine has an elegant aroma with notes of wild berries, underbrush, leather and subtle shades of violet.
The best combination is provided with a duck and roast meat: pork, chicken.
Volnay - one of the most refined red wines Cote de Beaune, known for its flavor, sophistication and elegance. Wines from the best vineyards may mature directly into bottles, and Volnay is no exception. Calcareous soil or rocky (soil erosion) on top of a thin layer of lime Bathonian with less clay than in Pommard.
