Company founder Rockford, Robert O'Callaghan was born in a family of growers and all his childhood spent in the vineyards. Robert's parents moved to North East Victoria, and his father got a job in one of the most famous Australian winemaking families - Seppelts. In 1965, Robert began an internship at the factory Seppelt's Rutherglen and continued the family tradition. "It was a wonderful time that I spent at the old winery. In 1971, Robert becomes a stone cottage dating from 1850 and the surrounding 5 acres of land in the village Krondorf, in the heart of the Barossa Valley.
