Bodegas Protos winery is located in the vicinity of Valladolid, in the town of Peñafiel. The company "Bodegas Protos" (in Greek "Rrotos" means "first") was formed from the best of the cooperative, which was founded in 1927. Today household owns 500 hectares of vineyards, which are mainly grown Tinto del Pais (Tempranillo). The winery is an architectural landmark.
