The wine is dark cherry color with purple trim.
The wine has a good structure and rich noble tannins velvety taste. Juicy fruit tones adorn echoes savory, tobacco and balsamic touches.
Multifaceted sweetish aroma of the wine represented shades of black cherry fruit with a focus and intriguing notes of vanilla, minerals, lavender and smoke.
Before drinking the wine must be subjected to decantation. It is preferably fed to poultry dishes, rabbit or red meat. Also a great pair can be game, sausages, fish, cheese, vegetables and soups.
Bodegas Protos winery is located in the vicinity of Valladolid, in the town of Peñafiel. The company "Bodegas Protos" (in Greek "Rrotos" means "first") was formed from the best of the cooperative, which was founded in 1927. Today household owns 500 hectares of vineyards, which are mainly grown Tinto del Pais (Tempranillo). The winery is an architectural landmark. The old and the new building of the winery are interconnected tunnels stretching for 2 kilometers, passing through the hill on which is located the historic center of the medieval castle of Penafiel. For five centuries, these underground tunnels used for wine storage.
