Wine "Protos" Crianza, 2015, 375 ml

Wine Protos, Crianza is made ​​of Tempranillo grapes grown in the vineyards of the appellation Ribera del Duero DO. Selected grapes are pressed, then the must is fermented in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. After the end of vinification the wine is aged in barrels of French and American oak for 14 months, and then another 12 months bottled wine matures in the cellars of the winery.

Bodegas Protos winery is located in the vicinity of Valladolid, in the town of Peñafiel. The company Bodegas Protos (in Greek "Rrotos" means "first") was formed from the best of the cooperative, which was founded in 1927. Today household owns 500 hectares of vineyards, which are mainly grown Tinto del Pais (Tempranillo). The winery is an architectural landmark. The old and the new building of the winery are interconnected tunnels stretching for 2 kilometers, passing through the hill on which is located the historic center of the medieval castle of Penafiel. For five centuries, these underground tunnels used for wine storage.
