Beer misty copper-orange color with a very rich froth.
The taste of beer is smooth, creamy, woody flavor with repeated notes, hints of citrus fruits, malt, vanilla nuances yeast earth, caramel and toffee, mild hop bitterness.
The sweet aroma of malt beer is filled with tones of toffee, wood, orange, tropical fruits (pineapple, peach, passion fruit), yeast.
Beer goes well with spicy dishes (including South American and Chinese food), snacks, grilled fish, grilled meat belyam.
Interesting Facts
In the line "Single Hop Series" from the brewery Mikkeller includes several varieties of beer brewed in the style of American IPA and 6.9% have a fortress. To manufacture each of them has been selected, only one hop variety. So, El Citra Single Hop made from American hop varieties Sitra, extracted in 2008. This bitter aromatic hops is characterized by bright fruit notes in the intense flavor and gives rich hop flavor, so it is often used to create the IPA.
Producer's description
In 2006, mathematics and physics teacher Mikkel Borg Bergso with his friend Christian Keller began experimenting in his kitchen in Copenhagen with hops, malt and yeast. The first experiment was the manufacture of friends "clone" of the Danish beer Brøckhouse IPA. The result of their work friends brought their favorite beer club where they created a beer won a blind test. This inspired friends, they began to create their own recipes and have won several medals on home brewing competitions at the national Danish beer festival. Kitchen experiments lasted two and a half years, after which it was opened Mikkeller production on a large scale. In 2007, Keller left his friend and began work as an editor of the Danish music magazine Soundvenue. Mikkel also went on his way. Today he brews beer for the best and most prestigious restaurants in Denmark, is working with US distributors, and exports its products to 40 different countries. At the international level Mikkeller recognized as one of the most innovative and advanced breweries.
