Producer's description
The Pellegrino company was founded in 1880 by Paolo Pellegrino, a notary with a great love for winemaking, and in 1888 he opened a winery in Marsala, which eventually became a family business and gradually earned a reputation as one of the most successful producers of the wine of the same name.
Marsala gained international recognition thanks to the British, connoisseurs of fortified wines such as sherry and port wine: it was they who, having got to the city of Marsala and tasted local wine, repeated the technology for the production of such strong wines and brought them to the international market. With each subsequent year, Pellegrino's economy achieves more and more qualitative results thanks to the improvement of technologies and strict observance of traditions, and their wines are highly appreciated by international experts.
