Zhevre-Shamberten is the northernmost of the great communes of Côte de Nuits. The commune consists of 26 Premier Cru and Grand Cru 8. Vineyard Clos Saint-Jacques is located at the beginning of the valley Com de Lavaux on limestone and clay soils with a fairly large proportion of marl.
