Wine "Les Forts De Latour", Pauillac AOC, 2001
Wine deep, almost black purple.
Taste powerful wine, juicy, rich, with a great structure, with lots of shades of plum and black currant, expressive minerality, with overtones of tobacco and a slight taste of graphite in an infinitely long aromatic finish.
Elegant, luxurious, expressive bouquet of the wine reveals explosive aromas of black currants, cherries and blueberries, elegant shades of spring flowers, notes of crushed stone and camphor, subtle smoky nuances and blackberry.
Wine is the perfect accompaniment to red meat with berry sauce, roast venison with herbs, hard cheeses.
"Le Fort de Latour" - this is the second, so-called "younger" wine Château Latour, which is a slightly lighter version of its older "brother", the great Château Latour, and is considered the best "second" wine of Bordeaux. This wine is made from the fruit of the vineyard from the site of Petit-Bataille, empty for many years until the mid XX century, when it was re-planted with vines, as well as with the addition of grape vines with young, who less than 12 years old, collected from the main vineyard. The proportion of grape varieties in the blend varies somewhat from year to year, but always Cabernet Sauvignon is the dominant component. Wine "Les Forts De Latour" annually shows excellent properties and represents excellent value for money. Every year it produces more than 150,000 bottles of wine that the ratio of the total production is 37%.
Vintage "Les Forts De Latour", 2009 - this is a serious wine with individual character. It has excellent aging potential - 25-30 years. Experts estimate that the maximum maturity of wine will reach by 2040. "Perhaps the best second wine ever made in Latour" - Robert Parker.
Château Latour is one of the few large farms Bordeaux, which are controlled by foreign capital. It is located on the border of two communes - Saint-Julien and Pauillac, to the north of the vineyard Léoville Las Kaz. Château Latour can be seen from afar thanks to cream-colored tower, like a fortress. The tower survived from the time of the XVII century, and that it adorns the label of wine industry. Produced in the Château Latour wine is always impeccably and is a model of consistent quality regardless of the crop year. Latour vineyard soil in gravel, well passes through a moisture.
