J.Bouchon Reserva line was designed to showcase the best terroirs Maule Valley through expressive wines of high quality. This line is made from carefully selected grapes from their own areas of the company in Santa Rosa, Las Mercedes and Mingre.
"Reserva" Merlot - Chilean red wine from Merlot grapes grown on the plantation estate in Santa Rosa Valley Maule. Sandy rocky soil vineyards give the wine a floral fragrance. The grapes are harvested by hand at the end of March or beginning of April and transported to the winery in small plastic boxes. The harvest is double sorting. Fermentation and maceration are manufactured in stainless steel at a temperature of 26-28ºC. After that, 50% of the wine is aged in old French oak barrels for 4 months. Company History Vina J.Bouchon SA begins in 1892, when Emile Bouchon, a native of Saint-Emilion, Bordeaux, France settles in the Colchagua Valley, Chile, with a mirage on the production of wines of excellence in the new world. In the first half of the XX century Antonio Bouchon continued development of vineyards planted by his father. During the sixties, the youngest son of Antonio Julio Bouchon, after graduating from the University of Bordeaux continued making proud family tradition. Now he is acting president of the company. With the acquisition in 1977 of the estate of Santa Maria de Mingre in Maule Valley, began an ambitious modernization process by which the wine in the nineties the company began exporting to foreign markets. Now Vina J.Bouchon SA has become a world-renowned manufacturer.
The vineyards are located in the dry coastal region of Maule Valley, in Santa Maria de Mingre, Santa Rosa, Las Mercedes and the estate Betuko. Also has vineyards in the estate Kanadilla located in the Colchagua Valley. The area of ​​vineyards reached a total of 370 hectares.
