Interesting Facts
Marylise Allegrini - the first Italian, who became the head of the wine company Allegrini. She headed the family firm since the early seventies, and during that time the house Allegrini has become one of the most famous wineries of Italy and the largest in the Veneto region. Along with his two brothers, Walter and Franco she continues the work of their father - Giovanni Allegrini, which became the forerunner of a new wave in the wine industry. He is the first to realize how important it is to focus not on the amount of grapes, and its quality and selection. Giovanni wanted to express the image of the wine of his land, with its stony, mineral-rich soils (millions of years ago there was the ocean floor), harsh winds, temperature difference between day and night. He rebelled against prescribed by state law for the use of the Valpolicella wine region, three grape varieties - "Corvina", "rodinelly" and "Molinari" and argued that the most valuable - "Corwin". When in the early seventies Giovanni Allegrini bought land on the rocky hill of La Grohl decided to grow grapes there, "Corwin," he intuitively felt: buying, infertile soil will cause the vines to break through the stones to moisture, "suffer" and this only becomes more complex and richer .
In 1983, when Giovanni himself was no longer alive, the farm has published his great wine - La Poja of absolute Corwin is authoritative wine guide Parker called stunning miracle.
