Producer's description
The history of the agricultural company Donato D'Angelo began in 2001 with the acquisition of 20 hectares of vineyards in Aglianico del Vulture, including the municipalities of Barile, Ripacandida and Musquito. 80% of the vineyards are cultivated Aglianico, the remaining 20% are Cabernet Sauvignon and Fiano. Currently, the company is managed by Filomena Ruppi and her husband Donato D'Angelo, who, after more than 40 years of working in the family business (a company studying the territorial features of the region), decided to apply all his knowledge, skills and experience directly to the winery. Today, the company's production volume is about 150,000 bottles per year. The assortment of the company is exported to various European and non-EU countries. The company's philosophy is to provide high quality products, which can be achieved by obtaining the best results, especially in the vineyards. Therefore, careful attention is paid to the painstaking work of winegrowers, and then to the subsequent stages of production.
"Our goal is to remain unchanged in quality, and to demonstrate this, we are ready to sacrifice mediocre vintages, in the sense that if the vintage is not very convincing in terms of quality, we will not bottle it," Filomena Ruppi.
