Interesting Facts

"Connetable de Talbot" - one of the best second wines of all the Medoc chateaux. The wine was first created in the mid 60s. The grapes for "Constable de Talbot" is hand-assembled and has been very thorough and rigorous selection sorting tables. Fermentation of wine is carried out in wooden vats for 4200 hectoliters in stainless steel vats for 5000 hectoliters with temperature control. Maceration lasts about 3 weeks, and then the wine is aged in oak barrels, 20% of which - new. The result is a classic, elegant wine with a clear structure and a long fresh finish. Ageing potential of wine is about 35 years.

Chateau Talbot is located in Saint-Julien, in the heart of the Medoc vineyards. Chateau is named after the constable Talbot, an English soldier who distinguished himself at the Battle of Castillon in 1453. In 1917, the estate of Chateau Talbot was acquired by Georges Cordier, who have made a huge contribution to the wine industry. Land estates have favorable properties for growing high quality grapes. Chateau Talbot feature is that the whole process of wine production is controlled by the digital technology, also in the estate there are two cellars, one filled with wooden barrels, second barrels of stainless steel. Both cellars have a temperature control system. Winemakers Chateau Talbot, combining tradition, high technology and favorable soil conditions create delicious wines.

Chateau Talbot worked closely with Veyret Latour, subsidiary of the Swiss group Schenk (Schenc), specializing in rare and fine wines from the Bordeaux region. The company has existed since 1970 and ever since has a special, private relationship with the owners of the prestigious Chateau across the region, working with them on issues of distribution and international trade.
