Chateau Fork to stay - the first wine of the same name of the estate. For its production grapes collected partly manually and partly (20-30%) by mechanical means. Wine fermentation occurs under controlled temperature 26-28S. Stand Chateau Fork remaining 12 months in oak barriques, 33% of which are new, clarification occurs on the white of an egg. In the year produces about 20,000 boxes. Chateau Fork Austan loved for its affordable price, which is surprising for wines from the Bordeaux region. One of the critics jokingly called him "too rare species of animals."
History Chateau Fork Austan begins with the story of the family to stay, the owners of the manor for a half century. The estate and vineyards were transferred to their family inheritance, until in 1810 they were not sold to another family. In 1971, the land acquired by the American syndicate, headed by Peter Sichel. Soon, the management of the economy began to help local winemakers - thanks to Chateau Fork Austan acquired an excellent reputation. In 2006, the estate once again changed the owner - today they are managed by brothers Laurent and Renaud Mommeya, in 2008 they restored the castle and updated three cellars, buy new equipment and barriques. Today vineyards Chateau Fork Austan occupy 47 hectares, which are grown Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the average age of the vines is about 30 years.
