Producer's description
According to the legend, which is confirmed by the existence of several ancient remains, the magnificent 18th century manor house, which today is the Chateau Cissa c castle, was built on the remains of a Roman villa. Here lives the whole family of winemakers, who for many years have been engaged in organic growing grapes and producing wines. Today the vineyards are managed by Maria Viaard, the direct descendant of Jacques Mondon, who bought the estate in 1895, and Louis Vialar, who restored it in the middle of the 20th century. The estate is located in the heart of the wine region of Medoc. The modernization, which took place in the early 2000s, included the improvement of soil biodiversity, the introduction of a policy of systematic renewal of grapes, the preservation and renovation of barrels and the sustainable optimization of age-old winemaking technologies.
