Interesting Facts

Wonderful wine "Baron de Brane" proudly bears the name of the founder of the winery Bran-Kantenak and created in order to pay tribute to this outstanding wineries. The wine is created from a blend of grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grown on soils rich in gravel. The average age of the vines is 45 years. After fermentation, the wine is aged 12 months in oak barrels, 20% of which are used for the first time. 2005 Chateau Brane-Kantenak was marked by favorable weather and March abnormally dry August. September and early October also distinguished abundant rainfall, and only in mid-October, just before the harvest, the rains washed earth vineyards. Nevertheless, grapes acquired the necessary richness and fullness of flavor and intense aroma and rich color.

Château Brane-Kantenak originates in the XVIII century, originally it was called Chateau Gras, after its founder. Long before the 1855 classification of its excellent wines made famous Chateau in France, and far beyond its borders. It is not surprising that the famous winemaker Baron de Bran, called in their circles "Napoleon vine", in 1833 bought a magnificent estate and gave it its name - Chateau Brane-Kantenak. Thanks to the efforts of Baron wine Chateau came to an even higher level and before the First World War, they proudly called "the first of the second", and their price was equal to the Premier Grand Cru wines Classe.V 1992 Chateau was inherited by Henri Lurton, who, having education enologist, set a goal to not only keep the style of aromatic and at the same time complex, harmonious wines Bran-Kantenaka, but also by introducing new technologies to deliver wine Chateau on a par with the first Grand Cru Classe.
