California Santa Cruz Mountains - pleasant, harmonious wine that goes well with cheeses and meat dishes. After harvesting the berries are full malolactic fermentation. Aged wine in American oak barrels (73% - a new, 27% - two-year) for 22 months.
Company History Ridge Vineyards dates back to 1885, when the doctor Osea Perrone, an immigrant from Italy, bought 180 acres of land in the Santa Cruz Mountains and on the slopes of the Monte Bello Ridge broke the three-level terrace where planted grapes. The winery was built here from natural limestone. After the repeal of Prohibition in 1940, the winery and vineyards bought William Short, and in the early 60s the estate acquired new owners - Dave Benon and its partners. Today, the equipment used is not any comparison with the simple devices that have been before, but Ridge Vineyards continue to adhere to the traditional methods of winemaking.
