Tasting Notes
Wine of deep ruby color.
The wine has a deep, sweet flavor with strong notes of dark berries and velvety tannins. Vigorous taste with good depth and excellent balance.
The wine has an explosive aroma with ripe cherries NOCs, cassis, spice notes, yellow, rose and vanilla.
Wine is well suited for meat dishes and cheeses.

Company History Ridge Vineyards dates back to 1885, when the doctor Osea Perrone, an immigrant from Italy, bought 180 acres of land in the mountains of Santa Cruz, on the slopes of the Monte Bello Ridge broke the three-level terraces and planted vines. The winery was built here from natural limestone. After the repeal of Prohibition in 1940, the winery and vineyards bought William Short, and in the early 60s the estate acquired new owners - Dave Benon and its partners. Today, the equipment used is not any comparison with the simple devices that have been before, but Ridge Vineyards continue to adhere to the traditional methods of winemaking.
Monte Bello is one of the best California wines of our time. Grapes for him at the time of going to optimum maturity, all varieties are vinified separately. Fermentation is carried out in small containers carried remontazh. Malolactic fermentation takes place immediately after alcohol. Followed by exposure for 18 months in new oak (97% American, 3% French). The result is a powerful, rich, aged in oak wine with excellent taste.
