Today Barbera - one of the most common varieties of the region. As the son of a winemaker, Giacomo Bologna created in 1961, a small company in the province of Asti Braida, in Piedmont. By the early 80s the company has already produced three stellar wine: Uchellone Bricaud della Bigotta and Ai Suma. Thanks to the care of plants and aging in small French barriques, Bologna was able to shake the wine world, creating a rich and complex wines from varieties that were previously considered only subsidiary.
Today the company is successfully managing Anna, widow of Giacomo, and their children Raffaella and Giuseppe.
