Interesting Facts
For the manufacture of aromatic dry white wine Birgit Eichinger, Roter Veltliner Stangl used Veltliner grapes Rother (Veltliner Rosato), collected in a vineyard Stangl, which is adjacent to the Südkessellage. The vines are planted on hillsides with southern exposure. Yellow-brown loamy and sandy soils containing iron compounds, heat up quickly and retain heat well, which give cool nights that promotes optimal ripening.
In the process of making wine, carefully selected healthy fruit subjected predfermentatsionnoy or aromatic maceration, which lasts about 10 hours. Then the berries are pressed, and the resulting wort is allowed to settle for 20 hours. Slow fermentation occur in steel tanks with pure cultures of the yeast at low temperatures for 3 weeks, thereby the taste of wine becomes thinner and more elegant. Before bottling the wine for a few months aged on its lees in stainless steel tanks.

Producer's description
Winery Weingut Eichinger is located in the small village of Strass (Strass) in Kamptal - one of the largest wine-growing regions of Lower Austria. The history of the relatively young company started in 1992, when the parents Birgit Eichinger gave her own small vineyard, an area of only 3.5 hectares. It was then that Birgit and her husband, Christian decided to start producing their own wines. Two years later, when he was found a suitable site, the couple started the construction of the winery and wine cellar. The area of vineyards owned by the farm, gradually increased to 9 hectares through the purchase of land in prestigious areas Wechselberg and Gaisberg, which are a classification Districtus Austriae Controllatus (DAC), which corresponds to the Kamptal French Grand Cru. In Weingut Eichinger cultivated grapes only white varieties, of which produce great wines. For example, a popular Austrian Grüner Veltliner in the economy aside about 60% of the area, and a 25% Riesling. The average yield of the vines here maintained at 30 hl / ha, which is even lower than in the famous French appellation Montrachet.
The success of the company explains Birgit love for his work. As one of the few female winemakers in Austria, it pretty quickly gained popularity due to its unmistakable, delicious wines that have a refined femininity and fragrant, juicy, tender, perfectly refreshing taste.
Birgit believes that her daughter Gloria eventually continue the family business, and she thus becomes the founder of a new dynasty of female winemakers.
