Tasting Notes

Interesting Facts

Batard - one of the greatest white wines of Cote de Beaune. According to legend, Lord Puligny in the Middle Ages divided his fortune among his children: the eldest son of "chevalier" (knight), the daughters of "pucelles" (young girls) and their son, born out of wedlock, - "batard". Battery-Montrachet is located on a gentle slope between Puligny and Chassagne. Soil of the vineyard consists of brownish limestone mixed with gravel.
