Tasting Notes
Wine of light golden color.
The pure, clear taste of wine comes to life thanks to the crunchy acidity. Dry mineral notes create a frame and a beautiful fruity-floral composition. The aftertaste is elegant and intense.
The wine is amazing with the complexity of the aroma, filled with tones of flowers, baked apple, pineapple, toast with butter, banana cream, almonds and vanilla.
The wine is served as an aperitif, combined with crustaceans, oysters, clams, fried fish, light meat appetizers, goat cheese and fruit mousses.
Interesting Facts
Famille Picard, Saint-Aubin Premier Cru "Le Charmois" AOC is a delightful classic white Burgundy wine with subdued smoke-flinty tones framing the elegant heart notes of apple and lemon. The vineyard "Le Charmois" is located on shallow calcareous soils. The harvested Chardonnay grapes undergo traditional vinification. For aging, new barrels are no longer used to preserve the expressive minerality of white wines. At this stage, the wine is placed in barrels of different terms of use (from 1 to 4 years). The wine has a potential of not less than 10 years.
Producer's description
Domaine Famille Picard is a picturesque, ancient manor house belonging to the Picard family. Several generations are engaged in winemaking with all the passion and pleasure inherent in the true French. Striving to produce high-quality wines, they do not forget about the environment, so they work within the framework of the biodynamic approach. It is expressed in the use of only natural products for soil cultivation, the use of horses for plowing the land, accounting for the lunar cycles when planning work.
The current owner, Michel Picard, in addition to the estate itself, occupying 35 hectares, also disposes of 135 hectares of vineyards, which are scattered in 5 different names of Burgundy. Real pearls of its heritage are magnificent cellars built in the 11th and 14th centuries.
