Pico Maccario winery founded by two brothers - Pico and Vitaliano Maccario, known for its high-quality wines "Barbera" from Piedmont. Both brothers are united in their love for winemaking, this passion with excellent land they inherited from their grandfather - Carlo. A few years later the brothers created a magical balance between winemaking and business: big brother Pico is committed to the production of wine, but in the hands Vitaliano all commercial aspects of the family business. They are very demanding, and above all - to themselves, have a precise idea about the goals necessary to achieve excellent results. They invest heavily in the modernization of production, new equipment, expansion of vineyards and the study of old and new clones of different varieties.
Pico Maccario vineyards are located in the hills of Asti DOCG in Mombaruzzo at an altitude of 180 meters above sea level. It is the largest vineyard in the Piedmont area of 70 hectares, of which 55 hectares are given under the variety Barbera. Around the vineyard is planted with red roses, so it is not surprising that the rose is part of the emblem of the winery.
