Cordon Rosado was created to meet consumer demand for sparkling wines "premium" class, with a smooth and soft texture and attractive color. Freshenet Cava Cordon Rosado is made from two grape varieties - Trepat and Garnacha. Mediterranean red grape is characterized by a low natural acidity and for creating soft sparkling wine without the typical astringent acidity. Also, these varieties of red grapes give the wine an attractive salmon pink color. The harvest begins in late September with a variety Trepat and harvested in early October Garnacha. The first fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel containers for 10-12 days, after which the wine is bottled and secondary fermentation in the bottle occurs.
Freixenet company was founded in 1889 after Pedro Ferrer Bosch, owner of the vineyard "La Freixeneda" married Dolores Sala Vive, heiress of the wine trade house with a 200-year history of "Sala".
