Of all the birds known in the Douro region, oriole (in Portuguese - papa-figos) - one of the most rare and special. The unique character of this bird is a source of inspiration for the last of the wine Casa Ferreirinha. Elegant and, at the same time, bright, classic but modern, wine displays the core values of the winery Casa Ferreyrinya.
For vintage "Papa Figos" used grapes exclusively from the Douro Valley. 2012 began with a cold and dry winter, the driest in the last 40 years. In April, the drought has receded a bit, and May was pleased sufficient rainfall. Nevertheless, flowering was delayed. Ripening is also behind schedule because of the cool weather of June. Wine has been produced by the most advanced technologies. After collecting the berries desteblirovali and crushed, then held fermentation in stainless steel tanks with pumping the wort with the skins at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C. After maceration wine separated from the skin by pressing. After malolactic fermentation the wine is aged for 8 months: 75% of the wine matured in steel tanks and 25% - in reusable French oak barrels.
