"Barca-Velha", 1991 - an amazing red wine with a very pleasant taste. Since its inception in 1952, the wine "Barca Velha", which is produced only in exceptional years, is the basis on which Casa Ferreirinha built its reputation. Since 1952 only wine was made 17 times, including 1982. This wine is produced in a modern plant in Quinta da Leda in the Douro region, in the north of Portugal. For production use local grape varieties - Tinta Cao, Tinta Roriz, Turiga Frank and Turiga Nacional. Harvested by hand in September. Each variety vinified separately. After gentle crushing and separating ridges grapes is fermented at controlled temperature and maceration to achieve accurate color, fruity flavor and soft tannin extraction. The wine is aged in 225-liter French oak barrels, 75% of which were new, lasts about 16 months. The final blend is obtained from a careful selection of the best wines in the result of numerous tastings and analyzes. In order to maintain the highest quality, "Barca Velha" 1991 was bottled without prior stabilization, so it can naturally develop in the bottle, with a very long storage capacity. Bottles should be stored horizontally in a cool, dry, dark place. Before serving wine should stand upright and night 3-4 hours open. Before use, the wine should be poured to separate long-term sediment.
