Vino Bianco di Volpaia Toscana IGT 2008 made from grape varieties Chardonnay and Sauvignon harvested from vineyards growing on sandy soils with a large addition of limestone. Cold winter 2008 continued rainy spring and hot, dry summers. Beautiful weather in October, after a cool September allowed the grapes to ripen fully and show their maximum quality.
Volpaya Castle (Castello di Volpaia) was built in the eleventh century, far from strengthening in order to create on the border of Florence and Siena.
