In 1923, Caleb Bredhem sold the company, but the next owner did not manage to put the company on its feet. President of the corporation Loft Candy, Charles Guth, took the reins in his hands, and finally, the company's business went up. Mr. Gut made a bold decision - to attack its main market competitor - the company Coca-Cola. In those days, "Pepsi-Cola" and "Coke" only sold in vending machines by 5 cents per bottle. The volume was 6 ounce bottle. Charles Guth decided to sell the drink in bottles of 12 ounces for the same price.
